When Ryan Miller arrived at Rider University last fall as a freshman, his coaches immediately talked to him about placing him in a league for the following summer. Miller had no idea what they were talking about. He figured he would be playing Legion baseball back in tiny Montoursville, Pa., after his freshman season at Rider.

Five players from Winchester will compete at 7:30 p.m. in Sunday's VBL All-Star Game between the North and South squads at Front Royal's Bing Crosby Stadium. The game will be preceeded by a home run contest at 4:30 followed by the 60 yard dash competition. Several MLB scouts will be on hand to take in the events.

On Tuesday night, the Big Train faced off against the US military All-Stars as part of the Red, White, and Blue Tour of America. The Big Train won the exhibition game 8-3, their seventh consecutive win.

At some point this summer, Steve Cadoret will probably give up a hit. Chances are Steve Geltz will allow a run. And Ryan Miller may blow a lead. But none of that has happened yet.
