Four Broncs MAAC All-Academic

LAWRENCEVILLE—Four members of the Rider University baseball team earned Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic team honors.

Senior Erik Holck, juniors David Hayes and William O’Connor and sophomore Jimmer Kennedy were honored by the MAAC for their high grade point averages.

Holck (Readington) graduated with a degree in Management and Leadership with a 3.274 cumulative grade point average, and also the Rider career record for games pitched with 76 appearances. Holck was the president of Rider’s Student Athlete Advisory Council and was fourth on the 2007 team in earned run average.

Hayes (Sunrise, Fla.) is a Marketing major with a 3.600 and batted .296 with 53 hits in 48 games. He led Rider in runs scored (33) and home runs (6) and was second in RBI (34) and stolen bases (7).

O’Connor (Cinnaminson) is an Accounting/Finance major with a 3.464 grade point average and led the team in games started and was second in innings pitched.

Kennedy (Levittown, PA) has a 3.638 grade point average as an Accounting major and won four games on the Rider mound, compiling 51 strikeouts in 60 innings pitched.
