Rider’s Olson, Hayes All-MAAC

FISHKILL, NY—Rider University sophomores Sean Olson and Jamie Hayes were honored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, Olson as a first team All-MAAC pick and Hayes as a second team All-MAAC selection.

Olson (Vineland/St. Augustine Prep), a first team All-State selection by the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association, ranked second in the MAAC in RBI with 42 and 17th in batting average.

Olson led the Broncs in batting average (.315), slugging percentage (.489), hits (58), RBI, doubles (12), home runs (6) and total bases (90).

Hayes (Sunrise, Florida/Piper), a second team All-State selection by the NJCBA,  batted .281 with 53 hits and 33 runs scored, and was second on the team in doubles with 11. Hayes stole 15 bases in 16 attempts, and when he moved from his shortstop position to the mound in the late innings compiled a Rider-record 11 saves. His 11 saves ranks among the top 15 in the nation and was second in the MAAC.
