Rider at Broadmead Invitational

PRINCETON--Several Broncs competed at the Broadmead Invitational Tuesday, hosted by Princeton University. “This was a very good day,” said Rider head coach Rob Pasquariello.

Senior Jazmine Fenlator (Wayne/Wayne Valley) qualified for the NCAA Regional in the hammer with a winning toss of 178’7”, breaking her own Rider record.  Fenlator has now qualified for the NCAA Regional in all three of her events, the hammer, discus and shot put. “You don’t see too many women in the country do that,” Pasquariello said.  “At this level most athletes are specialists. Sometimes you see women qualify (for NCAA Regionals, held at the University of Florida) in two events, but not three.”

In the discus, Fenlator won with her second best throw of the season with an ECAC qualifying toss of 156’2”. “That really shows her versatility,” Pasquariello said.

Senior Danny Enck (Lititz, PA/Warwick) qualified for the IC4As while breaking his own Rider record in the hammer with a toss of 176’4”. “Danny had been dancing around this mark for weeks now, especially last weekend when he missed by just two centimeters,” Pasquariello said. “To see him finally qualify was very gratifying.”

Senior Doug Beck (Branchburg/Somerville) made his best throw of the season in the discus with an IC4A qualifying toss of 168’ 10”.

“We had another chance to compete where the Eastern Championships (men’s IC4As, women’s ECACs) are being held, and they certainly took advantage of it,” Pasquariello said.

Rider will host the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships this weekend.
