PHILADELPHIA, PA—The Broncs completed the weekend at the Penn Relay Carnival and also competed at the Lion Invitational Saturday. “We finished up the regular season right where we wanted to be,” said Rider head coach Rob Pasquariello.

At the Penn Relays, junior Andrew Dagenais (Glen Rock) threw the javelin 173’6” to place 20th.

At the Lion Invitational, senior David Payne (Neptune) won both the 100m (10.79) and the 200m (21.80) in IC4A qualifying times.

For the Rider women, sophomore Megan Crowe (Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert's) won the 3,000m steeplechase (12:40.30).

“Everybody got a chance to compete this weekend, at either Penn or at TCNJ, and that is what we wanted,” Pasquariello said.  “At TCNJ, we weren’t looking for big performances, just an opportunity to compete, like a work out.”

Rider will host the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships May 5-6.  “We’re ready to go,” Pasquariello said.  “The kids are really looking forward to it. It is always a plus to compete at home, where we get such great support from the students and the entire Rider community. Our athletes love to compete at home.”
