College Softball
Temple University 9, Rider University 1 (5 innings)

AMBLER, PA—Despite a two-hit day from sophomore Clarissa Ortiz, the Broncs lost at Temple Tuesday in a non-conference game.

Ortiz (Vineland, N.J./Sacred Heart) has two of Rider’s three hits including a double.

Junior Mandi Sekly (Canyon Country, Calif./Canyon) added an RBI for Rider (6-27).

"We're running out of things to tell them," said assistant coach Michelle Walsh.  "We have a dedicated group and they are working hard, we're just not getting the results on the scoreboard.  We just have to keep working and things will turn around for us."

With Temple leading 8-0 in the fifth inning, senior Desiree Harbaugh led off with a single, advanced to third on two errors and scored on an RBI fielders’ choice by Sekly.

The Owls ended the game with an earned run in the bottom of the inning.

Rider hosts Monmouth on Thursday in a non-conference doubleheader at 3:00pm.
