PRINCETON—The Broncs shot a 632 to place 15th at the Princeton Invitational Saturday. “The conditions were tough but despite that we are starting to play better,” said Rider head coach Bob Whartenby.
Rider junior Tyler Brewington (Orangeville, PA/Benton) returned to form after an early season ankle injury to shoot rounds of 72 and 74 to shoot a 146 on the par 71 Springdale Golf Club, placing sixth of 78 golfers.
Sophomore Eric LeFante (Colts Neck) shot a 75 and a 78 for a total of 153 to finish 47th. Freshman Kevin Krecicki (Hamilton/Nottingham) had rounds of 81 and 83 for a total of 164 (73rd). Senior Matt Ringen (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock) shot a 170 (86/84) placing 76th and senior Jeff Palmer (Bensalem, PA) rounded out the scoring with a 172 (89/83) finishing 78th.
The final 18 holes scheduled for Sunday morning were canceled. “The weather has been brutal,” Whartenby said. “We had a frost delay this morning, and then it was pretty breezy.”
