Rider’s Fenlator Honored by MAAC, Again
LAWRENCEVILLE—Rider University senior Jazmine Fenlator was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Performer of the Week for all competition April 3-9. The award marks the third time in three weeks Fenlator has won the award this spring.
At the Duke Invitational Fenlator (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) set a Rider record in the discus with an NCAA Regional qualifying throw of 164’7”, placing second only to All-American Jocelyn White from North Carolina. “That was a huge accomplishment for Jazmine,” said Rider head coach Rob Pasquariello “To get a win and finish runner-up to an All-American performer, this was a really special weekend for Jazmine.”
Fenlator also won the shot put at Duke with an ECAC qualifying throw of 46’10” and was fifth in the hammer with an ECAC qualifying throw of 170’2”.
Fenlator was a two-time All-East performer during the 2006-07 Indoor season, and last spring was an Outdoor All-East performer in both the shot put and the discus.
Fenlator holds the Rider Indoor records for the shot put and 20 pound weight throw and the Outdoor records in the shot put, discus and hammer.
Fenlator was recently named the Rider female Athlete of the Month for March, and was the 2005-06 Rider female Athlete of the Year.
Rider hosts Delaware, Saint Peter’s and Sacred Heart Saturday. “We still think her best is yet to come with MAAC’s, ECAC’s and now the NCAA’s in her future plans.” Pasquariello said
