Final Round Snowed Out at Navy Invitational
Rider's LeFante 14th of 130 / Broncs place 20th of 25

ANNAPOLIS, Md.—After battling through 20 mile per hour winds and freezing temperatures that made the wind chill a balmy eight degrees, there wasn’t much more that mother nature could throw at the 130 golfers in the Navy Invitational.  Except maybe a few snow balls.  “It was a bizarre weekend of weather,” said head coach Bob Whartenby.  “I’m not sure how else to describe it.”

The second and final day of the 25-team tournament was cancelled after three inches of snow fell over the Maryland area late Friday night.

Rider sophomore Eric LeFante (Colts Neck) shot a 75 on the par-71 U.S. Naval Academy course Friday and tied for 14th place overall out of 130 golfers.

Kyle Morris from Seton Hall shot a two-under 69 and won by three shots.  Overall, the Broncs finished 20th.

Rider participates in the Princeton Invitational at the Springdale Country Club April 14-15.
