High School Students
Attention high school students! Enroll in undergraduate classes this summer and earn college credit. At Rider University, academically talented high school students entering 11th and 12th grade may select Rider University courses and earn college credit.
This summer, Rider’s distinguished faculty from the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the world-renown Westminster College of the Arts are offering three-week courses ideal for highly motivated high school students. The courses are offered from July 7 – July 28 and meet Monday through Thursday.
- MUS 120 Music & Society
Introduction to the basic elements of music [rhythm, melody, harmony, etc.] and the appreciation of representative types of music from all historical periods. (3 college credits; 1:00 pm -4:00 pm) - PSY 100 Introduction to Psychology
An orientation to psychology, covering major facts, principles and concepts about human and animal behavior and experience, research findings, major problems, basic vocabulary, methodologies, and contributions in the field. Topics include psychology as a science; human development; individual differences; intelligence and its measurement; special aptitudes and interests; personality and social behavior; motivation and emotion; frustration and personality deviations; and learning, thinking, remembering and forgetting. (3 college credits, 9:00 am- 12 noon)
Or, choose from a number of other six-week courses in business, liberal arts, and sciences. The tuition is only $435 per credit. High School Students Planning to Start College – Fall 2009
This summer, plan to take advantage of one of our Summer Information Sessions, held on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout June, July, and August. Each information session is hosted by representatives from the Office of Undergraduate Admission and is designed to answer all of your questions about pursuing your degree – and your goals for the future – at Rider University.
Specific topics include:
programs of study # scholarships # internships and research opportunities # campus life # financial aid
Following the presentation, you will meet current students who will give you a tour of the campus and answer any questions you may have about student life.
