Dr. Donald Evans Wygal Sr.

Associate Professor

Dr. Wygal has been a member of the Rider Community since 1984.   He has taught in the areas of Cost and Managerial Accounting as well as Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy. He is active in national and international accounting professional organizations, including service as Chair of the Teaching and Curriculum Section of the American Accounting Association and membership on the Pre-certification Education Executive Committee of the AICPA and the Committee on Academic Relations of the Institute of Management Accountants. He serves on the editorial boards of several professional journals and is the past Associate Editor of Issues in Accounting Education.

His research is primarily in the areas of ethics and professionalism and accounting curricular change.  His work has appeared in Accounting Education: An International Journal, Accounting Horizons, Advances in Accounting, Advances in International Accounting, Issues in Accounting Education, Journal of Accounting Education, Management Accounting Quarterly, Pennsylvania CPA Journal, Strategic Finance and other journals.  

He is a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the 101st Airborne Division in Phu Bai. He is married to Carol, a dedicated health-care professional, and is the father of Don Jr., Melissa and Melanie - wonderful children who have made him look good as a father.
