Dr. Maria H. Sanchez

Assistant Professor II

Dr. Sanchez has been a member of the Rider Community since 2002.   She teaches accounting theory and practice courses and undergraduate and graduate level auditing courses.   She also serves as faculty adviser to Beta Alpha Psi (accounting, finance and CIS honors society) and faculty adviser to the Equestrian Club.

Sanchez has been a recipient of Rider University Summer Research Fellowships in 2003, 2004 and 2005, and the Best Paper Award from the American Accounting Association – Ohio Regional Meeting – Teaching and Curriculum Section – 2004.   Her research is primarily in the areas of auditing, behavioral research and forensic accounting, and has appeared in Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Journal of Forensic Accounting, New Accountant, The Tennessee CPA Journal, and other respected journals.   She frequently presents her research at meetings of the American Accounting Association.

She is a member of the American Accounting Association, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Institute of Management Accountants, and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
