Message from the Dean

Welcome to Rider University’s College of Continuing Studies. The College’s mission is to enrich professional and personal lives of adult learners through meaningful and challenging coursesdegrees, and programs.  Each year, more than 1,000 adults enroll in our programs, whether by taking select courses or pursing a degree.

As a University, we recently celebrated 140 years of serving adult students through evening programs. Our alumni network includes 55,000 accomplished leaders - whether in the corporate world or nonprofit organizations, on stage or in the classroom. And our innovative academic programs – renowned for their curricular excellence and expert faculty – have placed Rider in the top tier of northern universities (by U.S. News & World Report) and among “Best 366 Colleges” (by Princeton Review).

The College of Continuing Studies recognizes the unique needs of adult students.  Our programs include:

Prior to joining Rider University, Boris Vilic served as director of technology and faculty team leader for the computer systems technology curriculum for the School of Leadership and Professional Advancement at Duquesne University.

His work has earned him critical acclaim. Vilic’s projects won the Creative Uses of Technology Award from the Association for Continuing Higher Education in two consecutive years. He was also honored with the 2005 Nofflet Williams Up and Coming Leadership Award from the University Continuing Education Association and Distinguished Faculty Award from the School of Leadership and Professional Advancement at Duquesne. Vilic’s work has been published in “Syllabus” and the “Ed Journal.” He recently co-authored a book chapter that focuses on academic integrity in the online environment and has presented his work at national and regional conferences.

Vilic holds an MBA in marketing from Duquesne University and a B.S. degree in administration and management from La Roche College in Pittsburgh.
