Dr. Hulsman's principal field is nineteenth century English literature. Besides seminars in the Romantic and Victorian periods, he teaches courses in satire and general humanities. He has edited a collection of Robert Browning's poetry. He is currently working on problems related to pedagogy and literature. Dr. Hulsman is a recipient of the university's Distinguished Teaching Award.
