English as a Second Language Certification

English as a Second Language Certification is available to elementary education majors and secondary education majors. Candidates for this certification will complete:

 

English as a Second Language
Multicultural studies electives	3
EDU 320 Instructional Linguistics and Second Language Learning	3
SED 420 Teaching a Second Language	3
EDU 358 Literacy and the Bilingual/Bicultural Child	3

 

Field experiences and language proficiency evaluations are required.
