Graduate Education, Leadership, and Counseling

News Flash!  Dr. Jesse DeEsch, our senior faculty member, has received the Eminent Career Award from the Association for Specialists in Group Work.  Congratulations, Dr. DeEsch!

The Department of Graduate Education, Leadership, and Counseling strives to provide quality programs with personal attention.  We offer a variety of degree and certification programs in both education and human services.  In education, we offer Ed.S. degrees in Counseling and School Psychology, M. A. degrees in School Counseling, Curriculum Instruction and Supervision, Educational Administration, Reading and Special Education, and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree.  In human services we offer M.A. degrees in Community Counseling and Organizational Leadership.  We offer certification programs in the above areas of education.  In addition, we offer Graduate Level Teacher Certification, English as a Second Language Endorsement, Preschool through Grade 3 certification and endorsement and Teacher-Coordinator of Cooperative Vocational-Technical certification.

We strive to provide quality through our faculty and through national accreditations for our programs.  The majority of our courses are taught by our full-time faculty, all of whom have doctoral degrees.   Our School of Education is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and our Master degree in Counseling Services is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Programs (CACREP).  The School Psychology Program is one of only three in the state of New Jersey to be fully approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). We strive to provide personal attention by scheduling classes at times that enable those who work full-time to complete their programs, by regulating class sizes to keep them reasonable sizes, by providing practical experience in the form of practicums or internships in all our degree programs and by hiring faculty who are committed to our students.
