Community Counseling Concentration
This program pepares professionals for counseling positions in higher education, rehabilitation hospitals, medical centers, mental health agencies, industry, private practice, and other community settings. The course of study meets the core requirements for the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). Within this option, students may choose a concentration in higher education student services.

- COUN 530: Legal and Ethical Issues in Counseling or Psychotherapy
- CNPY 514: Psychopathology
- EDPS 503: Human Growth and Development
- COUN 585: Individual Counseling Practicum
Group 1:Practica and Internships (9 credits)

Group 2:Research and Assessment (6 credits)

Group 3: Electives (3 credits)
One 3-credit elective must be taken.This elective is to be taken with permission of the program advisor.No elective can be taken prior to the completion of COUN 500 without permission from a program advisor.(Note:Some electives may have prerequisites.)
