Academic Support

At Rider, success is about having the right support.

That’s what the Education Enhancement Program (EEP) is all about.

Our mission is to help students reach their academic goals by empowering them with the strategies needed to be independent and successful learners.  We provide and coordinate academic support services to maximize students’ educational potential and self-awareness.

Our academic support services and programs include:

  • Free individual and small group tutoring and workshops in reading, writing, and study strategies provided by the Rider Learning Center .
  • Specialized Embedded Tutoring for writing courses.
  • A self-paced developmental Math course and tutoring for College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Math courses provided by the Math Skills Lab.
  • Non-credit and credit Reading Courses that focus on strengthening students' reading comprehension and study strategies.
  • Assistance for students with documented disabilities through Services for Students with Disabilities.

The EEP staff consists of experienced administrators, professional tutors, graduate students, and trained peer tutors. All EEP programs are free for all Rider students.  The EEP office is located next to Daly's Dining Hall, in the Joseph P. Vona Academic Annex # 3.  For more information about EEP, contact Cheryl Walter, Administrative Specialist, at 609-896-5244 (walter@rider.edu); Dr. Jacqueline Simon, Program Director, at 609-895-5641 (simon@rider.edu).
