Economics Minor Requirements

The minor in economics is available to all students at the University. The Economics Department provides a wide range of course offerings. Choice of electives depends upon student interest and future career goals. Students may sample courses from many different fields or foucus in areas such as international economics, public policy, or economic theory.

Economics Minor (18 semester hours)

ECO 200 Principles of Macroeconomics

Four economics courses, three of which must be at the 300 level or above

Students in the College of Business Administration who minor in economics should keep the following in mind:

  • Students are required to have 54 semester hours completed before enrolling in 300 or 400 level courses.
  • Intermediate Macroeconomics (ECO 210) or Intermediate Micreoeconomic Theory (ECO 211) can be counted as either business or liberal arts electives.
  • The following economics courses can be used to satisy the CBA international business requirement, the global business concentration, as well as the requirements for the minor:
    • ECO 305 International Trade and Investment
    • ECO 315 Comparartive Economic Systems
    • ECO 365 The Post-Soviet Economy and US Business
