Suggested Course Sequence

The following tables are meant to give students a general framework for the order of their math classes. They are not meant to replace individual meetings with an advisor. Be sure to meet with your math advisor each semester to review your math program and to select courses for the following semester.


For students Majoring in Mathematics only

Freshman Algebra/Trig or Calculus I
Calculus I or II
Sophomore

Linear Algebra

Physics 200 + Lab

Calc III (if not already taken)

Differential Equations

Physics 201 + Lab

Junior

Advanced Calculus

Probability and Statistics I

Complex Analysis

Modern Geometry
