Facilities & Instrumentation

The Chemistry, Biochemistry and Physics Department is housed in the Science and Technology Center on the Lawrenceville Campus. This building was recently rennovated providing better spaces for both teaching and research laboratories. The three chemical teaching laboratories are the ground floor. One is for general chemistry laboratory sections, one for organic chemistry laboratory sections. The last is used for the upper level laboratory courses. The physics laboratory and the attached physics instrumentation room are located on the second floor. Each of the teaching laboratories is designed to hold a maximum of 18 students, ensuring that laboratory sections are small. Each of the faculty members also has a separate research laboratory. There are also several rooms which house many of the departmental instruments listed below. The building also has two Macintosh computer labs for use by all science students. Additionally the general chemistry and physics laboratories are equiped with computers and instrumental interfaces so that experimental data are collected digitally before students preform their anaylses.
