Program Requirements
MBA Program Requirements Course Requirements
To successfully complete the MBA program at Rider University, a student must take a minimum of 30 graduate credits regardless of the number of core courses waived. The MBA Program requires 24 hours of core courses, 15 hours of advanced core courses, and 12-15 hours of elective courses. A student will complete between 30 and 51 semester hours, depending on how many core courses are waived.
Core Courses (24 semester hours)
Individual core courses will be waived if an equivalent undergraduate course or sequence of courses: (1) was completed within six (6) years of acceptance into the MBA program (grade of "C" or better is required; "B" of better in Financal Management) or (2) was completed at an AACSB International accredited program from which you graduated within the past five (5) years.

Electives (12-15 semester hours)
You may select electives that will enable you to concentrate in a particular area of interest (such as finance, marketing, global business or health administration) or you may choose a varied selection of courses to fulfill this requirement with a more general mix of electives.
International Business Course Requirement (3 semester hours)
One elective in international business is required unless work was done in this area at the undergraduate level. The international requirement does not change the total number of electives required.
Waiver of Courses
Individual core courses for the MBA program may be waived if an equivalent undergraduate course or sequence of courses was completed, with a grade of at least a "C" in each class (or at least a "B" in the case of a course comparable to MBAD-540 Financial Management), at an AACSB International accredited program from which a student graduated within the past five (5) years.
If equivalent undergraduate core courses were completed at a non-AACSB International accredited program (at a regionally accrediated instituton), individual core courses, except MBAD-540 Financial Management, may be waived based on completion of equivalent course work within six (6) years prior to admission to the MBA program at Rider with an undergraduate grade of "C" or higher. MBAD-540 Financial Management may be waived based on completion of equivalent course work within six (6) years of admission to the MBA program at Rider with a grade of "B" or higher.
With the approval of the associate dean of the College of Business Administration, students may take proficiency examinations to waive core courses if the above criteria are not met. Core courses will not be waived merely because of one's work experience.
Transfer of Courses
A student, who has been admitted to the MBA program, may request the transfer of a graduate course taken at an accredited institution. Such a request may be granted if the course was taken recently, was passed with a grade of "B" or higher and was taken before admission to the MBA program at Rider. Once a student has been admitted to the program, graduate courses taken at other institutions must have prior approval of the Assistant Dean of the College of Business Administration before transfer credit will be allowed. A maximum of six (6) semester hours of transfer credit may be granted towards elective requirements.
