Management and Leadership and Human Resource Management Double Major Requirements

The courses below outline the requirements for successful completion of the academic program according to the 2007-2008 Undergraduate Academic Catalog.  This catalog is in effect for all incoming students for Fall 2007 or Spring 2008.  Current Rider students that are enrolled in this program have the option of continuing with the degree requirements in effect upon their initial enrollment or substituting with the current requirement.  For those students interested in continuing with the program requirements effective at their term of entry, you may download your Curriculum Checksheet:

Management and Leadership and Human Resource Management Double Major (18 semester hours)
MGT-310 Introduction to Human Resource Management 3
MGT-355 Team Management 3
MGT-363 Management Skills 3
 
Plus seven of the following courses, including at least three of the first five listed
HRM-312 Introduction to Labor Relations 3
HRM-313 Legal Aspects of Human Resource Management
HRM-315 Employee Selection and Training
HRM-316 Compensation Administration
MGT-320 Managing Workforce Diversity
MGT-336 Career Management
MGT-346 Negotiation
MGT-348 Small Business Management 3
MGT-375 International Management

MGT-421 Selected Topics in Management and Organizational Behavior
or
HRM-441 Selected Topics in Human Resource Management
(either 421 or 441 can be taken, not both)

MGT-448 Seminar in Small Business Consulting  
HRM-490 Independent Research Study

An average grade of C or better is required in the 30 semester credit hours that are required for the management and leadership and human resource management double major. Majors are encouraged to take either MGT-491 Internship in Management and Leadership OR HRM-492 Internship in Human Resource Management as a business or free elective.
