Suggested Course Sequence

Coursework is sequenced so as to develop and build on skills and competencies.  Some courses have prerequisite requirements.  Please refer to the student handbook for more details.  Students studying part-time are required to follow the same sequence of courses although some flexibility will be required since certain courses are offered less frequently.  All courses are 3-credit courses unless otherwise indicated.

Year 1

Fall Semester

  • EDPS 514:  Assessment & Intervention I: Standardized Measures of Academics & Behavior
  • EDPS 513:  Professional Practice of School Psychology: Issues and Historical, Ethical, & Legal Considerations
  • EDUC 500:  Introduction to Research
  • EDPS 503:  Human Growth & Development

Spring Semester

  • EDPS 515:  Assessment & Intervention II:  Curriculum-Based Measures
  • EDPS 584:  Practicum in Curriculum-Based Measures (1-credit)
  • SPED 530:  Positive Behavior Support
  • EDPS 521:  Statistics & Qualitative Analysis
  • CNPY 515: Consultation in School & Agency Settings
  • EDPS 583:  Practicum in Consultation in School & Agency Settings (1-credit)

Summer Semester

  • EDPS 535:  Biological Basis of Behavior
