Meet Our Co-Op Students

 

Matthew Nissen
I completed my co-op experience with the big four accounting firm KPMG.  After completing my co-op experience I remained with the firm for a summer internship and later accepted employment with them in September of 2009.  The co-op experience was very rewarding because it afforded me the opportunity to apply textbook content to real life scenarios.  In addition, I was enlightened by a first hand look at real audit testwork and wonderful networking opportunities.  In the future, I look to complete my MBA and CPA, continue to build my professional network, and begin working for KPMG.

   
  Aditi Joshi
I worked with Deloitte Tax LLP. My time at Deloitte has provided me an excellent introduction to life in public accounting and the opportunity to work for Fortune 500 clients. I was really impressed by the structured nature of the intern program and felt that it was the right mix of hands-on client work experience and some great fun intern events. I now really look forward to a successful career in public accounting."
   
  Dana Hoffman
My co-op with Johnson & Johnson gave me insight into the financial workings of the pharmaceutical division of one of the largest companies in the world and gave me opportunities to advance my analytical and communication skills by working with individuals in different groups within the organization. As an audit intern with KPMG, I got to see a very diverse group of organizations, from small not-for-profits to a large pharmaceutical company, and gain an understanding of and experience in the audit profession. The most important thing I gained from both of my co-op experiences was confidence that I can and will be successful in the accounting field, and these co-op positions have given me the networks and skills I need to begin fulfilling my career goals.

Choosing to do a co-op was one of the best decisions I made in my college career. My experience at Amper, Politziner, and Mattia was instrumental in laying down the right foundation for a growing career in public accounting. I learned many things, such as performing an audit, good business etiquette, and also about my personal attributes. After this experience, I feel more prepared to make a decision about my career after college, all thanks to the Co-op program here at Rider."

I interned at Wilkin & Guttenplan, P.C. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this firm and the people there were so supportive and friendly. They took time to mentor me, but more importantly, they built relationships with me and made me feel like a vital part of their organization. I was fortunate enough to work in both the audit and tax departments, performing several different tasks. I truly benefited from this experience, and because I liked Wilkin & Guttenplan so much, I will be working there full time and I hope to build my career there.
