Three students from the Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) chapter at Rider University placed in the N.J. State Leadership Conference on February 28 at Mercer County Community College.
Natalie Tolle placed first in Marketing Analysis and Decision Making and second in Client Service and Who’s Who in PBL; Elizabeth Williams placed second in Management Concepts; and Chris Dodds placed third in Financial Concepts and Management Concepts. Dodds, of Coopersburg, Pa., is a Management and Finance major.
By placing first or second place, Tolle, of Bordentown, N.J., a senior Marketing and Advertising dual major, and Elizabeth Williams of Jackson, N.J., a junior Business Administration major, will compete and participate in the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Calif. from June 20 to 23.
At conferences, members can attend workshops, participate in competitions, hear guest speakers and network. “We each competed in two competitive events, attended workshops, ate delicious food, elected our new state officers, networked with members from around the state and had a lot of fun,” Tolle said about the event.
The Rider chapter also received three awards: Membership Expansion, which is awarded to chapters who increased their membership from the previous year; Membership Equalization, which is awarded to chapters who equal their membership from the previous year; and second place for Largest Local Chapter.
Currently, there are 30 active members in the chapter at Rider. The next Rider PBL meeting is Tuesday, March 24, at 5 p.m. in Sweigart Room 117.
