Admissions Process & Requirements

Applicants for graduate study are asked to:
  1. Complete the application for graduate study.
  2. Submit the non-refundable $50 application fee;
  3. Submit a statement of aims and objectives;
  4. Submit official transcripts from every college or university attended;
  5. Submit Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores, if English is not your native language, and you did not attend a U.S. university for your undergraduate program;
    Minimum TOEFL score: 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), 80 (iBT)
    Minimum IELTS score: 6.5
  6. Program Specific Requirements:
    • Master of Business Administration (MBA): Current resume and official notification of Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores.
    • Master of Accounting (MAcc): Current resume and official notification of Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores.
    • Graduate Level Teacher Certification program: Official notification of Praxis test score (which test is dependent upon the type of certification the applicant is seeking). (Program is not available to F-1 student visa holders; other visa holders should contact the NJ State Department of Teacher Licensure directly to ensure that they awould be eligible for student teaching and state certification)
    • M.A. Counseling Services: 2 professional letters of recommendation, official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test or Miller Analogies Test (MAT) score results and participation in a group interview session facilitated by faculty, including an on-site writing sample.
    • M.A. Curriculum, Instruction, and Supervision: 2 letters of recommendation (at least one from a current district or school administrator), personal leadership platform statement in instructional supervision, and particpation in an interview with a program coordinator
    • M.A. Educational Administration: 2 letters of recommendation (at least one from a current district or school administrator), and participation in an interview with a program coordinator
    • M.A. Organizational Leadership: 2 letters of recommendation, participation in an interview with the program coordinator may be required for some applicants.
    • M.A. Reading/Language Arts: 2 professional letters of recommendations, and participation in an interview with a program coordinator
    • M.A. Special Education: 2 letters of recommendation, copy of a current NJ Teaching License/Certificate, and participation in an interview with a program coordinator.
    • M.A. Teaching: Minimum 2 years teaching experience, 2 letters of recommendation (at least one letter of recommendation from a district or school administrator, or an immediate supervisor or team leader), participation in an interview with a program coordinator
    • Education Specialist (ED.S.) Counseling: 2 current professional references, official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test or Miller Analogies Test (MAT) score results, group or individual interview. Must possess one year (or its equivalent) of counseling experience
    • Education Specialist (ED.S.) School Psychology: 2 current professional references, official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test or Miller Analogies Test (MAT) score results, group or individual interview
