New Student Orientation

Summer Orientation

Summer Orientation is an exciting, informative program for all new students and their family members.

Students, you will have the opportunity to meet and get to know your classmates, learn about the campus and available resources, meet with faculty and administrators, and receive your course schedules. Family members, we also have an orientation designed specifically for you with information on how you can support your student along with some of the "nuts and bolts" that you're interested to know.

Orientation Packet
Watch your mailbox for your Orientation packet! This will give you information on your assigned Placement Testing and Summer Orientation dates and information. Please make sure you return the enclosed Course Placement & Orientation Reply Sheet and any disabilities information. If you're wondering whether or not you'll need Placement Tests or why you've been assigned to take them, please click here for more information.

Orientation Dates
You will be assigned to an Orientation session by major. All freshmen will attend a two-day program that runs Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon during the summer. Transfer students attend a one-day program on Thursday, July 10th.

Check-in begins at 2:00pm on Sunday, and the session will end by approximately 2:00pm on Monday.

You are strongly encouraged to attend the session to which you are assigned - this will allow you to complete your course selection with an advisor from your department. If it is necessary for you to change your date, please call the Orientation Office at 609-896-5373.

Staying Overnight
Incoming freshmen and up to two family members have the option to stay overnight in the residence halls during Orientation. Students and family members will be housed in different residence halls, so make sure you pack accordingly.  Return your Orientation Reply Sheet quickly because space is limited!
