English Proficiency Exam Information (TOEFL/IELTS)

Rider University requires that non-native English speakers submit evidence of English language proficiency in the form of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Students who have attended a U.S. college or University in which English is the medium of instruction may have this requirement waived. For more information, contact the admissions office. Please note that Rider does not offer English as a Second Language (ESL) coursework.

Conditional admission is not available. We will not consider your application unless you have reached the below minimum scores and submitted the official results to Rider University.

Minimum Scores:

• TOEFL iBT: 80
• TOEFL CBT: 213
• TOEFL PBT: 550
• IELTS: 6.5
