Information for Graduate Business Applicants

GMAT Exam Information
Submission of GMAT scores is required for all applicants to the Master of Accounting (MAcc) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs. This requirement is only waived for students who possess a doctorate (PhD) degree. GRE results can NOT be substituted for GMAT results.

Because Rider University considers all information submitted by the applicant, there is no minimum acceptable GMAT score.

Duration of Program
The MBA and MAcc programs at Rider University range from 30-57 credits, depending upon waived coursework.

Students who do not have a business background should expect to spend 2 full calendar years at Rider University, including summer sessions.  Students with a business background can complete the degree in as little as 1 calendar year, including summer sessions.

Generally, graduate education programs are 36-48 credits in length, depending upon the program. Students should expect to spend 1-3 calendar years at Rider University, depending upon the program.


Work Experience
Work Experience is NOT required for the MBA and MAcc programs. Work experience is required for some graduate education programs. Please see specific program requirements for more information.


Graduate Assistantships

Rider offers a very limited number of graduate assistantships. Visit http://www.rider.edu/assistantships to view a list of currently available graduate assistantships.  To apply for an assistanship, you must already be admitted to study at the university. Graduate assistantships do not cover the full cost of study. Most assistanships cover the cost of 6 credits (2 courses) per semester; international students must enroll in at least 9 credits (3 classes) per semester to maintain full-time student status.
