Graduate Business Programs
The Executive MBA is a 51 credit, 21 month program, especially appropriate for individuals who are currently scientists, engineers, or have other non-business educational backgrounds and are transitioning to positions requiring business, management, and leadership skills.
The College of Business Administration at Rider University also offers the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and the Master of Accountancy (MAcc).
- Accreditation: The programs were accredited by AACSB International, the International Association for Management Education, in 1993 and reaffirmed in 2007. In addition, the MAcc program was further recognized for excellence with AACSB International accounting accreditation in 2007.
- Faculty: Over 96% of our faculty hold Ph.D.'s. They are teachers/scholars who bring extensive research expertise and/or years of business experience to the personalized classroom experience.
- Students: The students have a rich background of work experience in the region's major corporation, government, and entrepreneurial firms.
- Classes: For the MBA and MAcc programs, classes are offered Monday through Thursday evenings to best fit the needs of students who also work full-time. A limited selection of courses is also available on Saturdays. The supporting undergraduate accounting courses are also scheduled and available during the day. For the Executive MBA program, classes are offered on Saturdays, and at various times during the 21-month program, there are Friday seminars.
- Program Requirements: For the MBA and MAcc programs, a minimum of 30 semester credit hours and a 3.0 GPA are required for graduation for either degree. Depending on the student's background, the MBA requirements may be as high as 51 credit hours, and the MAcc requirements may be as high as 57 credit hours. The Executive MBA is a 21-month program, consisting of 51 credit hours of course work.
There is a rich array of graduate business electives available to students to allow customization of the program to meet the student's career needs and personal interests. As a result, the students may select a variety of electives across functional areas to create a strong and diverse educational experience. Students needing a more specialized education might concentrate their selection of electives in such areas as:
- Computer Information Systems
- Entrepreneurship
- Finance
- Global Business
- Health Care Administration
- Management
- Marketing
In all cases, the student will have extensive opportunities to develop interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills while working directly or indirectly in real or simulated business situations.
