The Center for International Education
The Director and the Assistant Director of the Center for International Education are your mentors at Rider. They can answer or direct you to other University personnel who can answer questions related to academic and social concerns while you are in the United States. As University representatives, the Director and Assistant Diretor act as official liaisons between you and the United States Immigration authorities. They can explain to you how things work and why.
U.S. government regulations concerning student visas are constantly changing, and on campus the Director and Assistant Director are familiar with these laws. While it is your responsibility to maintain your legal status, the advisors will help you by acting as a buffer between you and the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) on issues including Practical Training, Program Extension, and endorsements of I-20s for travel.
The Director and Assistant Director are the first administrators to contact if you encounter any trouble, to act as your intermediary or mediator, or to guide you in the right direction. They also provides coaching concerning culture shock and/or inter-cultural conflicts.
The Center for International Education is located in the Bart Luedeke Center (BLC) Suite 124. You can reach our office by phone at ext. 7717. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to Rider.
