International Students
Dear Rider University International Students,
As you are about to begin the exciting and sometimes bewildering experience of studying in a foreign country, our staff want to welcome you and tell you a few things about Rider University and the Center for International Education.
The academic community you are about to join is one which is deeply committed to enrolling students from around the world and to providing them with resources necessary to make the most of their experience here. This is because, at Rider University, we believe that the interactions among students, faculty, staff, and administrators with different backgrounds and experiences is indispensable to creating a dynamic and challenging environment in which we can live, work, and learn together.
The Center for International Education plays a crucial role in insuring that you do get the most of your experience at Rider. Located on the first floor of the Bart Luedeke Center, the Center for International Education is your place, the place you should feel comfortable coming to for help and advice on everything from visa problems and obtaining a driver's license to handling academic and personal adjustment problems. It is an office dedicated to meeting your needs. At the Center for International Education, you will find expert advice on immigration regulations and knowledgeable referrals to the resources of the surrounding community. You will also find staff who have traveled extensively and who understand what it is like to move halfway around the world to an unfamiliar culture and environment.
What presents itself to you now as a new international student at Rider University is a wonderful and potentially life-changing opportunity to test and expand your abilities in a new environment. Like all opportunities, it will only benefit you if you step forward and make the necessary effort. When you have the chance, meet new people, practice English in real situations, explore the rich resources of this area, and take advantage of every opportunity to learn about the people and the culture in which you find yourself. And always remember that if you need help and support in this great adventure, you have a willing friend in the Center for International Education.
Again, welcome to Rider University and to the Lawrenceville/Princeton area.
