May 16, 2006-- Six Rider students selected to tutor students in China | Six Rider University undergraduate students have been selected to travel to Fuzhou, China this summer to tutor English and teach American culture to middle and high school-aged students. They are the first to venture there as part of Rider’s on-going initiatives to prepare students for an increasingly global world. |
May 16, 2006 - Lackie Receives Ken Haycock Award for Promoting Librarianship | Robert Lackie, associate professor-librarian, has been selected the 2006 recipient of the Ken Haycock Award for Promoting Librarianship. He will receive the award at the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in New Orleans on June 27. |
May 16, 2006 - Rider Honors Two Professors for Teaching Excellence | Dr. Feng Chen, associate professor of chemistry, and Dr. Todd Weber, assistant professor of biology, were named the recipients of Rider University’s Distinguished Teaching Awards at the University’s 141st Commencement. Heather Horowitz, a political science major, and Perry Whiteley, a finance and global business major, are the 2006 President’s Award winners on the Lawrenceville campus and Matthew Knickman, a voice performance major, is the President’s Award winner on the Westminster campus. President Rozanski announced the recipients at the respective award ceremonies on both campuses. |

Following semester-long renovation work at the front of Moore Library and a “detour” to a ground floor entrance, the new 24-hour, wireless study lounge opened recently for individual study and small-group collaborative work. |

Rider’s two commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 12 will feature distinguished individuals. At the 9:30 a.m. ceremony on the Lawrenceville campus New York Yankees Manager Joe Torre and his wife, Alice, president of the Joe Torre Safe At Home Foundation will receive honorary degrees. Westminster’s ceremony at 4 p.m. will feature the commencement address by Anthony Tommasini, New York Times music critic, and the awarding of an honorary degree to Allen Crowell, former member of Westminster’s conducting faculty. |

A graduate Small Business Institute team has placed second in national SBI Association case competition to continue the success and consulting excellence other Rider small business teams have achieved over the years.
Seventeen Sanda students and one Sanda instructor, which arrived on Rider's Lawrenceville campus in mid-January, toured New York City on Sunday, February 5, with Julie Luster, assistant dean of the College of Business Administration and Karen Kehm, an MBA student and graduate assistant.
Matthew Stevens, a senior finance and global business major, has been accepted into Johnson & Johnson’s highly selective Financial Leadership Development Program.
