NOVEMBER 18, 1997- ADAMOW NAMED AS RIDER'S NOVEMBER TUTOR OF THE MONTH

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ -- Kathleen M. Adamow of Ivyland, PA, a junior history major at Rider University, has been selected as the Tutor of the Month for November, 1997, by Rider University Tutoring Services.

She was nominated for the award by the students she tutors because of her knowledge of history and her special skills and empathy in helping students to better understand the material. Her students attribute their improved grades to her tutoring efforts.

Earlier this semester, Adamow received the Gary A. Carskaddan History Prize, presented twice a year to the Rider history major with the highest grade point average in history during the previous semester. She is a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the international honor society for history, and the history club.

Adamow is a 1994 graduate of Council Rock High School and a 1996 graduate of Bucks County Community College, where she earned an associate degree in American studies and served as president of the Social Science Club and as a tutor. She is presently a member of the Sixty-Ninth Pennsylvania Regiment of Civil War Reenactors, and aspires to make a career of historic battlefield preservation.
