JULY 15, 1999- RIDER AGAIN EARNS FINAL FOUR BERTH IN NATIONAL ACCOUNTING COMPETITION

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – A group of students in Rider University's College of Business Administration have once again calculated how to successfully navigate the road to the Final Four.

The Rider accounting team, consisting of two current students and a recent graduate of the University, has been selected as one of four finalists in the Institute of Management Accountants' 1999 National Student Case Competition. This is the sixth Final Four appearance for Rider in the past nine years. Last year's team finished second in the competition.

Dr. Larry Prober, associate professor of accounting at Rider, is the advisor of the team.

The preliminary round of judging in the competition was based on video presentations submitted by each team. Ten teams were selected from the field to advance to the second round, from which judges selected four teams – Rider, Idaho State University, James Madison University, and Oregon Institute of Technology – for the finals. The national championship round of live competition will be held on Friday, August 13, 1999 at the annual meeting of Beta Alpha Psi in San Diego, CA.

Rider University is an independent, coeducational, nonsectarian institution with a 353-acre main campus in Lawrenceville, New Jersey and a 23-acre campus in Princeton, New Jersey. The University offers 60 undergraduate programs and 17 graduate programs in the Colleges of Business Administration; Liberal Arts, Education, and Sciences; Continuing Studies; and Westminster Choir College. Ninety-three percent of the faculty hold doctoral or other appropriate advanced degrees.
