MAY 2, 1997- MANETAS NAMED ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF MAJOR GIFTS AT RIDER UNIVERSITY

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ -- Peter G. Manetas of Yardley, PA, has recently been named Associate Director of Major Gifts at Rider University. The appointment is effective May 19, 1997.

In his new capacity, Manetas will represent the University to its constituencies, primarily Rider alumni, and assist with donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities. He will meet individually and in small groups with Rider alumni and friends with significant interest in the institution.

Manetas is quite familiar with the Rider community. He earned a B.A. in journalism in 1977 and M.A. in education in 1984 from the University, and served as Assistant Director of Public Information at Rider from 1979-81. Since 1992, he has served as Assistant Athletic Director for Public Relations/Marketing, responsible for enhancing and strengthening Rider University's image regionally and nationally through the marketing and promotion of the intercollegiate athletic program.

In the seven years between his employment tenures at Rider, Manetas served as Sports Information Director at The College of New Jersey from 1984-91.

Rider University is an independent, coeducational, nonsectarian institution with a 353-acre campus in Lawrenceville, NJ, and a 23-acre campus in Princeton, NJ. The University offers 57 undergraduate programs and 15 graduate programs in business, liberal arts, science, education, and music. Ninety-five percent of Rider's faculty members hold doctorate or other appropriate advanced degrees. U.S. News and World Report has again ranked Rider in the top tier of northern universities based on the quality of its programs.
