APRIL 10, 1997 - PALMER, LAROSSA TO ATTEND NATIONAL DELIBERATION DAY CONFERENCE AT RIDER
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ -- Trenton Mayor Douglas Palmer and State Senator Richard LaRossa (R., 15th District) will be the featured speakers at Rider University's National Deliberation Day conference on Saturday, April 12, 1997.
The program will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in room 102 of the Science and Technology Center on the University's Lawrenceville campus.
The National Deliberation Day conference, co-sponsored by the Foundation for Individual Responsibility and Social Trust (FIRST), provides a forum for Generation X'ers to voice their views. This regional event will revolve around a common theme, "Reinventing the American Dream."
Following the opening greeting by Mayor Palmer, three topics -- community and diversity, political reform, and education -- will be opened to the floor for discussion. Senator LaRossa will add his insight for the political reform discussion, and Vandon Jenerette, professor of sociology at Southeastern Community College in Whiteville, NC, will speak on the issue of community and diversity.
