JUNE 17, 1998- HAMILTON STUDENT RECEIVES GRANT TO CONDUCT CANCER RESEARCH AT RIDER

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ -- Jason P. Smith of Hamilton Township, a senior biology major at Rider University, has received a New Jersey Cancer Research Summer Fellowship to conduct research in University labs through September.
The grant, totaling $2800, is funded by the State of New Jersey Commission on Cancer Research. It provides funding for 12 weeks of work beginning June 23 and covers expenses such as supplies, fringe benefits, small equipment, and other miscellaneous costs.
Smith, a 1995 graduate of Trenton Central High School, will present a paper based on the results of his research to the Commission sometime in October.
Rider University is an independent, coeducational, nonsectarian institution with a 353-acre main campus in Lawrenceville, New Jersey and a 23-acre campus in Princeton, New Jersey. The University offers 58 undergraduate programs and 17 graduate programs in the Colleges of Business Administration; Liberal Arts, Education, and Sciences; Continuing Studies; and Westminster Choir College.
