MARCH 30, 1998- INTERFRATERNITY AND PANHELLENIC COUNCILS ATTEND CONFERENCE

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ -- The executive board of the Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils of Rider University attended the Northeast Interfraternity/Panhellenic conference during the weekend of March 7, 1998. The conference serves as the regional gathering for more than 200 institutions from Maryland to Maine.

The following members from Rider's executive board were elected to various positions at the conference:

  • Interfraternity Council president Anthony Brooks of Vineland, NJ, a junior communications major, was elected secretary of the Northeast Interfraternity conference executive committee.
  • Interfraternity Council vice president Kirk Hinkley of Hallstead, PA, a sophomore biology major, was named vice president of region five.
  • Panhellenic Council vice president Leah Nivison of Toms River, NJ, a junior psychology major, was selected to serve on the Northeast Panhellenic conference resolutions committee.
  • Graduate assistant for Greek affairs John Kapell of Lawrenceville, NJ, who is in the human services masters degree program at Rider, was selected as graduate assistant for the conference and served as a conference presenter.

In addition, director of Greek affairs Gina D'Amato, a resident of Wallingford, PA, was selected as the Phillipi Outstanding Advisor, presented by the Northeast Interfraternity/Panhellenic conference for distinguished performance in fraternity and sorority advising in the region. D'Amato received a plaque and a $500 prize.
