OCTOBER 9, 1998- INGRAM TO DELIVER RIDER'S FALL KEYNOTE THEME LECTURE
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ -- Daniel Ingram, senior vice president for strategic development for algroup wheaton, will deliver Rider University's keynote theme lecture for the 1998 fall semester on Wednesday, October 14, at 4:30 p.m. in the Student Center Theater on Rider's Lawrenceville campus.
Last fall Rider initiated a four-year University Theme Program, titled "2001: To the Millennium and Beyond." Through a variety of theme courses and events such as the theme lecture each semester, the program will explore the forces of change and the future as the world approaches the next century.
A 1979 magna cum laude graduate of Rider with a B.A. degree in political science, Ingram will speak on globalization and the future of work.
Ingram joined Wheaton, Inc., a $500 million manufacturer of glass and plastic packaging for pharmaceutical and cosmetics companies, in 1981. He is widely recognized as an advocate for liberal arts education.
Between 1984 and 1995, Ingram held various senior management positions within Wheaton, including vice president of sales and marketing for plastics, science products, and glass tubing divisions, as well as vice president for Wheaton Science Products and general manager of Wheaton Instruments.
In May 1996, Wheaton was purchased by algroup, a $6 billion multi-national corporation in Zurich, Switzerland with aluminum, chemical, and packaging businesses in 23 countries.
In his current position with algroup wheaton, the company's $1 billion pharmaceutical and cosmetics packaging division, Ingram is responsible for strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, business development, and marketing communications.
He is a past member of the board of directors of the Laboratory Products Association and is active in several industry associations.
He resides in Voorhees, NJ with his wife Anne, a 1980 Rider graduate with a degree in accounting, and their three sons.
