May 25, 1999- SONNENBERG ELECTED TO THREE-YEAR TERM ON RIDER BOARD OF TRUSTEES

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Frank Sonnenberg, a nationally recognized expert in the field of marketing and a partner at Sonnenberg, Haviland & Partners of Ridgewood, has been elected to a three-year term on the Rider University Board of Trustees.

"Frank's expertise in marketing and his knowledge of Rider will be assets to the board," said Dr. Bart Luedeke, Rider president. "He has been a dedicated alumnus of the University, has served with distinction on our College of Business Administration's Business Advisory Board, and has provided invaluable counsel on marketing and advertising matters over the years. I look forward to having him serve as a trustee."

Formerly the national director of marketing for the Management Consulting Group of Ernst & Young, one of the largest consulting firms in the world, Sonnenberg has consulted extensively in marketing, sales promotion, and marketing communications strategy.

His Ridgewood firm serves a blue chip roster of clients including Volvo Cars of North America, PricewaterhouseCoopers, PepsiCo, GOLF MAGAZINE, Deloitte & Touche, Thomson Financial, The St. Regis, Merck-Medco, Sheraton, The March of Dimes, Nynex, and Perugina.

A recent guest on CNN, Sonnenberg is the author of two books, is currently working on a third, and has written more than 300 articles. He is the author of the best-selling book Marketing to Win (Harper & Row 1990), which has been translated into several languages, and Managing With a Conscience (McGraw-Hill 1994), which was selected by IndustryWeek as one of the top ten business books of 1994. Fortune, BusinessWeek, and Executive Book Clubs featured Managing With a Conscience as a main selection.

Sonnenberg, who resides in Upper Saddle River, presently serves as an expert panelist for Bottom Line Business, is the marketing columnist for The Journal of Business Strategy, and is on the editorial board of The Journal of Training and Development.

He is the recipient of numerous industry awards for winning marketing campaigns, including being honored as a Caples Awards finalist recognizing the world's best achievements in direct marketing.

He is a 1977 graduate of Rider with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree in accounting and management and organizational behavior.
