August 19 - Roll Out the Red Carpet is Welcome Theme at Rider
LAWRENCEVILLE -- “Roll Out The Red Carpet” is Rider University’s welcome theme for the new academic year. A host of activities have been designed to help new students, faculty and staff adjust to campus life. Special highlights are Cranberry Fest and the New Residence Hall Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to take place on Thursday, September 8.
According to Christine Carter, coordinator of the New Student Resource Center at Rider, the intent is to ensure that all newcomers feel a strong sense of campus spirit, pride and community. “We’ve collaborated with offices around campus to include a variety of programs and events during Fall Opening. We want students to connect with one another in a meaningful way.”
Now in its 26th year, Cranberry Fest will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Campus Mall. The festive event is noted for its luncheon with the legendary Cranberry, who sports Rider’s school colors -- cranberry and white. A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place at noon in front of the new residence hall. President Mordechai Rozanski will present opening remarks, followed by remarks from Chris Manning, Residence Hall Association (RHA) President; and Cindy Threatt, director of Residence Life.
