Broncs Galloping Into the Job Market -- Career Services is Keeping Rider Students and Alums Working
The Career Services Office has launched Broncs Career Link, a new automated system that empowers Rider University students and alumni, as well as prospective employers, throughout the job placement process by giving them the ability to manage their own accounts online while allowing Career Services to supervise the process.
The online Broncs Career Link system, located at www.rider.edu/careerservices, provides numerous benefits to students including the ability to search for job and internship opportunities 24 hours a day; inquire about or apply for full-time, part-time, co-op and internship positions online; schedule on-campus interviews; upload multiple résumés and cover letters for employer review; and participate in Career Fairs.
“The Office of Career Services is fortunate to have the ability to offer the best in cutting edge technology through the Broncs Career Link for Rider students and alumni,” said G. Joyce Tyler, director of Career Services. “The challenges of the current economy require that our student population be afforded every opportunity in order to successfully compete in today’s job market.”
The tools enabled by Broncs Career Link give Rider students and alumni a distinct advantage over the competition, explained Tyler. “Employers depend heavily on the speed and efficiency of online recruitment tools to quickly screen, schedule and eventually hire a productive workforce,” she said. “It’s never too early to begin the job search process in today’s highly competitive job market.”
Part of the MonsterTRAK online job-search and employment site, Broncs Career Link is a specialized segment of the network licensed to Rider University for use by Rider students and alumni. “Both groups now have immediate access to all kinds of job opportunities, posted by both the employers and Career Services staff, and MonsterTRAK jobs are still directly accessible through the Broncs Career Link,” explained Kelly Pedersen, assistant director of Experiential Learning. “In addition, registered users have direct access to the entire database of employers and contacts, through an online employer directory.”
In fact, Pedersen continued, those students previously registered with MonsterTRAK have already had their information downloaded into Broncs Career Link, and will simply need to log onto the system to update their information and upload their current résumés.
Broncs Career Link gives students and alumni the ability to manage on-campus interviews and their own personal calendars, and while they do not need to be registered with the online service to participate in the biannual Career Fairs at Rider, there is a definite benefit. “If they’re registered with Broncs Career Link, their résumés can be directly submitted prior to Career Fairs to the employers who are registered to attend,” Pedersen said.
The Fall Career Fair is scheduled for Thursday, November 6, and the Spring Career Fair is set for Thursday, March 26.
Career Services is also teaming
with the Office of Alumni Relations this year to enhance the Senior
