New Appointments Add New Energy to Rider
The Office of the President and the Office of University Communications have recently added new staff members who are eagerly tackling the challenges of their new positions. Since their arrivals, Beverly Braddock, special events and project manager, and Sean Ramsden, director of editorial services, have already made significant contributions on behalf of the University’s internal and external constituencies and are looking forward to furthering their roles in the months and years ahead.
Braddock was named special events and projects manager in January. In her role as event planner, Braddock manages all aspects of annual and special events for the Office of the President, as well as projects that have high visibility and involve the participation of President Mordechai Rozanski. Events under her coordination include Board of Trustees meetings, Commencement, Convocation and the Annual Holiday Party. Additionally, she will work with other University offices providing guidance and direction in managing high profile special events.
A 1987 Rider graduate who majored in Marketing and minored in Communications, Braddock is very happy to be back on campus. “It is great to be a part of the Rider community again,” she said. “I am enthusiastic about being able to play an active role in coordinating events to support the University’s mission.”
Braddock comes to Rider from Computer Generated Solutions, Inc., where she served as a marketing manager responsible for event planning, marketing campaigns and corporate communications. She brings 20 years of experience in events planning and marketing for the professional service and nonprofit industries to her position.
Ramsden, a resident of Union, N.J., began work at Rider on February 18 after nearly eight years at Kean University. In his new post, he oversees all written materials produced by University Communications, including all publications, serves as editor of Rider Magazine and performs a multitude of functions with the goal of effectively communicating Rider’s message to internal and external audiences. Ramsden’s role is also aided by the addition of Meaghan Haugh, the office’s new public relations writer who previously wrote for and edited The Daily Collegian, the 20,000-circulation daily newspaper published independently by students at Penn State University.
“I’m very pleased to have Sean and Meaghan on board,” said Daniel Higgins, executive director of University Communications at Rider. “Their talent will truly bolster our staff and enable us to intensify our communications efforts in the future.”
At Kean, Ramsden was the senior editor and feature writer for the Office of University Relations, where he was responsible for a variety of duties that helped generate a surge in profile, name recognition, media placement and student enrollment at the Union Township-based state university. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Seton Hall University.
