University Advancement Debuts New Planned Giving Web Page
The Division of University Advancement has introduced an interactive Planned Giving page to its Give to Rider Web page. Planned giving is just one way to help support the University’s mission of student education and development, and this updated page details plans designed to let donors shape their philanthropic goals toward that end.
“The new Planned Giving Web page is far more flexible than the old pages,” said Deadra Bachorik Ashton, director of Gift Planning. “It’s an interactive site that provides information tailored to each person’s needs and interests.”
Planned giving allows donors to make a substantial gift in ways that will complement their personal financial plans, but such tailored philanthropy may present uncertainty to potential donors. To help, the restructured Planned Giving Web page lets those who are inclined to give, but unsure of how, explore the Build My Gift planner, which takes the user on a step-by-step situational process that asks the user about giving preferences, timeframes, tax benefits and much more.
Another feature, the Compare Gifts page, lets the user choose a desired financial goal and then weigh the relative benefits of as many as three different types of planned giving in order to choose the course of action that best suits his or her objective.
“There are also stories of planned-giving donors, downloadable brochures and a gift calculator that gives the reader instant information on exactly how a gift might pay income to him or her for life,” Bachorik Ashton explained. “There's even a section for financial planners and advisers. Alumni and friends can visit this site and learn more about gifts that benefit them while creating a lasting legacy at the University.”
