Dec. 16 - Rider University Accounting Department Offers Professional Seminars

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider University’s accounting department will offer of a series of non-credit professional development seminars on business analysis and equity valuation and fraud detection and prevention in January and February.  These seminars will fulfill professional licensure requirements.


Dec. 7 - Celebration of Lights Promotes Unity

Rider University will usher in the holiday season with its 13th annual Celebration of Lights on Thursday, December 9 at 4:30 p.m. in the Bart Luedeke Center Cavalla Room.


Nov. 23 - Trustees Approve Phase 2 on Student Recreation Center

Successful fund raising of more than $2.3 million from private sources has led the Rider University Board of Trustees to approve moving forward with the $2.8 million second phase of the Student Recreation Center (SRC).


Nov. 23 - Thanksgiving Luncheon: A Time for Giving, Reflection
Members of the Rider community will reaffirm what they are thankful for at Rider’s Thanksgiving luncheon on Tuesday, November 23 from 11:30 a.m.to 1 p.m.

Nov. 11 - Rider to Launch Executive MBA Program
Rider University will launch an Executive Master of Business Administration program in Fall 2005 that will feature executives in the classroom with business faculty, leadership skills seminars, an international experience, networking opportunities and convenient Saturday classes.

Nov. 10 - Butsch Invited to Lecture at International Symposium
This summer, the cultural attaché from the French consulate in Chicago searched for an expert to discuss theater audiences. Dr. Richard Butsch of Princeton Junction, professor of sociology at Rider, was the name that repeatedly surfaced after investigation. Once contacted, Butsch accepted the invitation to participate as a panelist in an international symposium on French and American contemporary theater.

Nov. 5 - Rider Theater Opens Fall Season With Musical Chairs
If you find going to a theater to watch an audience watch a play an interesting twist, you’ll find more than just that when Rider University opens its main stage season with Musical Chairs.

Oct. 26 - Rider Institute To Host Holt-Spadea Debate
The Rider University Institute for New Jersey Politics will sponsor a debate between 12th Congressional District candidates, Democratic incumbent Rush Holt and Republican challenger Bill Spadea, noon - 1 p.m., in the Bart Luedeke Center Theater on Thursday, October 28. The campus community is invited.

Oct. 26 - Andrew J. Rider Scholars Honored on Founder’s Day
Rider University’s best and brightest undergraduate students will be honored as Andrew J. Rider Scholars on Saturday, November 6 as part of the annual Founder’s Day ceremony. The program begins at 11 a.m. in the Bart Luedeke Center Theater. The Scholars have been selected based on their grade point averages.

Oct. 26 - U.N. Under-Secretary General to Speak on Global Issues
Dr. Thoraya Ahmed Obaid, U.N. Under-Secretary General and executive director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), will focus upon the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in her talk, "ICPD is What I Am About," at Rider University Thursday, November 4 from noon to 1 p.m. in Sweigart Auditorium.

Oct. 12 - Ambrose to Receive Iorio Award for Faculty Research
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Dr. Don Ambrose, professor of graduate education at Rider University, is widely known as an expert in the area of giftedness, talent development, and creative intelligence. On September 29, Rider University will laud him for his work, naming Ambrose the 2004 recipient of the Dominick A. Iorio Award for Faculty Research.

Oct. 8 - Schutz Highlights Alumni Awardees
Susan Polis Schutz '66, co-founder of Blue Mountain Arts greeting card, book and Internet company, will highlight a long list of alumni awardees at Rider University's Alumni Awards and Homecoming Dinner on Saturday, October 16 when she receives a 2004 Distinguished Alumna Award.

Sept. 29 - Noted Psychologist Opens Rider University Lecture Series
Dr. Hendrie Weisinger, an internationally known psychologist and New York Times bestselling author of Emotional Intelligence at Work, will open Rider University's 2004-2005 Lecture Series Thursday, October 14.

Sept 28- Rider Institute for New Jersey Politics, SGA Coordinate Student Voting Project
The Rider University Institute for New Jersey Politics and the Student Government Association are coordinating a student voter registration drive to encourage purposeful participation in the 2004 presidential and congressional elections.

Sept. 28 - Research Takes Students on Jersey Estuaries
Rider junior Harmony Liff of East Montpelier, VT, and sophomore Amber Andyshak of Northern Cambria, PA, ventured into new terrain this summer.

Sept. 21 - Noted Journalist Unity Day Speaker
Reflecting upon the 50th anniversary observance of Brown vs. the Board of Education this year, George Curry, editor-in-chief of the National Newspaper Publishers Association News Service and BlackPressUSA.com, will address its ramifications to kick off Rider University's seventh annual Unity Day celebration Tuesday, Oct. 5.

Sept. 14 - Facilities Renewal Under Way
The mounds of dirt, piles of stone, stacks of piping, as well as the bulldozers and excavating equipment, tell the story of major residence hall and student recreation center construction work under way on the Lawrenceville campus.  It is the campus buzz.

Aug. 23 - Princeton Artist Opens Art Gallery Season
The stone sculptures, original collagraph prints, handmade paper work and mesh wall hangings of Princeton artist Margaret Kennard Johnson has opened Rider University Art Gallery's 2004-2005 season.
