To the Rider University community,

It is with profound sorrow that I inform you of the untimely passing of Dr. David Rebovich, associate professor of Political Science and managing director of the Institute for New Jersey Politics at Rider University. David was the most well-known and respected voice for political insight in the state of New Jersey and a beloved member of the Rider community.

A loss of this magnitude cannot be expressed in words. David’s contributions to our community, his passion for his work and his love of teaching were unsurpassed. For 28 years, he served Rider with great distinction as a faculty member, chair of the Political Science Department, Assistant Dean, and as managing director of the Institute for New Jersey Politics. Among his greatest contributions was his role as mentor, advisor and inspiring teacher to generations of Rider students.

The thoughts and prayers of the entire University community are with David’s family.

Counseling will continue to be available for all Rider students, faculty and staff at the Counseling Center, 896-5157.

Funeral services For Dr. David Rebovich will be held 9 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, from the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green St., Woodbridge followed at 10 a.m. with a Funeral Liturgy at Saint Nicholas Byzantine Church, Perth Amboy. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery in Perth Amboy. Visiting will be 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Parastas services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home.

The Memorial Service at Rider University in Lawrenceville will be held Thursday, October 18, at 11:45 am in the Cavalla Room in the Bart Luedeke Center.
