Rider’s Response to Tragic Events at Virginia Tech
Dear Rider University Community,
The horrific events at Virginia Tech yesterday leave the Rider University community profoundly shocked and saddened. Having just lived through the tragic passing of one of our own students, we find it almost impossible to fathom how the Virginia Tech community is coping with its losses. On behalf of Rider University, we extend our heartfelt sympathy and prayers to the innocent victims, their families and friends and to the entire Virginia Tech community for the incalculable grief it must now be feeling.
For students, faculty and staff in our own community who are anguished by the devastating events in Virginia, Rider’s counseling and campus ministry staff on our Lawrenceville and Princeton campuses stand ready to help.
As a sign of solidarity with the Virginia Tech community, flags on both our campuses will be flown at half staff for the next three days. In addition, please join Rider’s Student Government Association in expressing support and sympathy on Wednesday, April 18 in Daly’s on the Lawrenceville campus from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., or in Westminster's Dining Commons from
4:30 to 6:30 pm, by signing a banner that will be sent to the Virginia Tech community. Campus ministry will also provide a prayer book at both locations for students to provide comments in and to sign. Further, a video tape of the Symphonic Choir and Schola singing the Lutkin Benediction will be mailed to the Virginia Tech community along with the prayer books and banners.
Sincerely,
Mordechai Rozanski
President
Rider University
