March 30, 2007, 2 p.m. - Tragic Death of Rider Student, Gary DeVercelly
It is with profound sadness and deep sorrow that I inform the University community of the tragic death of our student, Gary DeVercelly. I know I speak for the entire Rider community when I extend my heartfelt sympathy to Gary's family.
Gary's passing affects all of us deeply. We are a caring and supportive community and now is the time for us to grieve. Our counseling and campus ministry staff will be available to students, faculty, and staff in Lawrenceville and Princeton.
Together with Gary's family, we are making arrangements to hold a memorial service tomorrow afternoon. Specific details about the time and location will be provided. As is tradition when a member of our University community dies, the flags on both campuses will be flown at half staff.
